This page explains what information Swinderby CHOPS keeps about you, why we keep it and who we share it with.

What we keep

When you join the scheme or use this website, we keep:

your name, email address, home address and phone number
any delivery notes you give us, for example where your oil tank is
the orders you place and the messages we send you
anything you send us using the contact form
technical details such as your IP address, to keep the website secure
a record of what is done with your account, such as when you log in, place an order or change your details, and when it happened

Why we keep it

We use your information to:

place your heating oil orders
tell you about your delivery, including the price and the delivery date
answer your questions

When you place an order, we give the oil supplier your name, address, phone number, delivery note and how much oil you ordered. They need this to deliver your oil and to take payment.

We do not share your information with anyone else, and we never sell it or use it for marketing. We will only pass it on if the law says we must.

Keeping it safe

We store your information on secure servers in London, run by Linode. Only the volunteers who run the scheme can see it.

Your rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you. You can also ask us to correct it, or to delete your account. Please contact us to do this.
