Swinderby heating oil scheme
Buy your heating oil together and pay less
Swinderby CHOPS collects heating oil orders from around the village and buys them as one big delivery. Buying together gets everyone a better price. It is free to join.
- Free to join, run by volunteers
- Orders every two months
- Usually more than 25 homes per delivery
Since May 2020
What we have done together
-
Over 1 million litres of heating oil bought together
-
1,658 deliveries to homes in the village
-
176 households have used the scheme
We estimate members have saved over £65,000 between them, compared with buying oil on their own. This is based on a saving of 6p to 9p a litre.
